(CNN) — It’s Labor Day weekend in the United States and Canada, and it’s just September everywhere in the rest of the world. CNN Travel is back with another weekly roundup of news about planes, trains, the outdoors and the depths of the ocean.

Life at sea

A new underwater expedition departs on September 4 to explore the unknown mysteries of the Maldives. There is much to discover: the small Asian island nation is 99% ocean and only 1% land.
And in Iceland, tourists this summer were outraged at the resumption of whaling after a four-year hiatus. The hunting season ends this month and may well be Iceland’s last.

Two Air France pilots have been suspended after a cockpit fight and a Southwest Airlines flight was disrupted after a passenger AirDrop sent a nude photo to other pilots.
